Where Do You Begin After Losing Everything That Felt Like You?
When a relationship ends, it doesn’t just feel like you’ve lost a person.
It feels like you’ve lost your routine.
Your sense of belonging.
Your shared language.
Your identity.
It’s disorienting in a way people don’t always talk about. Because you’re not just grieving them... you’re grieving the version of you that existed inside that relationship.
So the question comes, raw and honest:
Where do I even begin to rebuild my life?
It’s a beautiful question.
And the answer is simpler than we expect... but not easier.
There is only one place to begin:
Myself...
Not once.
Not gently.
But over and over again.
I come back to myself when my mind spirals... by feeding it something new, something that stretches me, something that turns the stone and keeps it moving.
I come back to myself in my body... through movement, through exercise, through remembering what it feels like to inhabit my own skin again.
I come back to myself through pleasure... real, grounded, sensory pleasure. The kind that lives in taste, touch, music, sunlight, laughter.
I come back to myself by rebuilding connection... not with the one who left, but with the many who remain. My friendships. My family. My community. The people who reflect me back to myself in different ways.
Because the truth we forget when we’re in love is that:
A relationship was never meant to be our entire universe.
It was meant to be one planet.
Just one.
And when it becomes everything, we collapse when it’s gone.
So the work now is to rebuild your galaxy.
To create a life where there are many planets: your passions, your friendships, your creativity, your body, your solitude, your joy.
And yes... one day, maybe love again.
But not as the center of everything.
Just as part of something much bigger.
So where do you begin?
You build yourself.
Because if you don’t exist... truly exist... then there is nothing for the world to see, nothing for others to meet, nothing for love to land on.
You begin by returning.
Again and again.
Back to you.
Back to you.
Back to you.
If this is you
Trying to find your ground again
I can help.
Reach out when you’re ready.
