At War With My Body

Here I am, eating breakfast, thinking I should eat less.

Here I am, eating less, thinking I should be fasting.

Here I am, fasting, thinking I should move my body.

Here I am, working out, thinking I should push harder.

Here I am, trying to push harder but I can’t. I’m tired.

Here I am, trying to boost my energy, thinking I should quit coffee.

Here I am, quitting coffee, thinking I should add supplements.

Here I am, taking supplements, thinking I should sleep better.

Here I am, trying to sleep, thinking about everything I didn’t get done.

Here I am, waking up exhausted, wondering how I’m going to hold it all together.

Here I am, standing in front of the mirror.

Look at your face.

Look at the dark circles.

Look at the grey hair.

Look at you.

Get it together.

Control yourself.

Do more.

Try something else.

Here I am, trying to control my body...

and the more I try to control it,

the worse I feel.

I’m a woman, at war with my body.

If you’re like me…

is this really about what we eat?

Or how we move?

Or is it about the lens we’re using?

That turns every sensation into a problem.

That translates “tired” into “not doing enough.”

That confuses control with care.

From that lens—nothing will ever feel like enough.

What if the work isn’t to fix the body…

but to notice the thought that says it needs fixing?

To catch it.

Name it.

Interrupt it.

To learn, slowly, how to see the body

as something you are in relationship with—

not something you manage, reduce or win against.

Because the body responds to how it’s perceived.

And when the perception shifts,

something else becomes possible:

More steadiness.

More energy.

More trust.

Not because the body changed first—

but because the mind did.

And that, more than any diet or routine,

is where things start to shift.

I’m a woman.

And I’m learning to make peace with my body.

If this is you—

constantly thinking, adjusting, never quite landing—

I can help.

You’re welcome to reach out anytime.
